HAPPY BIRTH-IVERSARY

It was Kevin's Birthday today. He's 26! That means he is closer to 30 than 20, which was depressing for him to realize. Tomorrow is our 2 year Anniversary! It seems like we've been married longer than 2 years!

After I got off work, I was going to drive home, change then go pick up a birthday cake for Kevin..however those plans were ruined when I got home and saw that Kevin had gotten home early. We got ready for an early dinner. We decided to eat at The View, which is supposedly a very fancy restaurant in the Casino. Well, we drive all the way out there (across the lake) and we park, walk in, and at the door I asked the girl how to get to the View from the main casino enterance... she pointed. We got to the doors... and oh my god.. wouldyalookatthat! They are CLOSED on Mondays. I have NEVER known any business that is open all week except MONDAYS! How completely odd is THAT! I was frustrated at the Valet parking girl, she could have told us it was closed instead of pointing us in the right direction.

We went to a different restaurant instead. Kevin's mom's friend owns the place. I was offered and accepted a waitressing job there tonight. only one day a week. I figure it's extra cash in my pocket for gas and whatnots. The waitresses get paid 5.50/hour plus tips. I think the tips are going to be very nice in a place like that. After dinner we went out with a couple of friends and hung out, played some darts, blackjack and pool.

Tomorrow we are going to attempt to go to The View with my parents. It is their anniversary tomorrow as well. I forget how long they've been married... probably like 200 years or something.

I don't work tomorrow, I have to remember to get mr. pie some more Rx cat food from the vet. He has a clean bill of health for those of you sitting on the edge of you seat, waiting to hear how he is doing. The only weird thing about him now is that he likes to hang out and sleep in the bath tub.

And here... to end my post.... a chicken.

Went to the lake... then Karissa stalked me.

Tonight we just chilled at the lake. BBQ some chicken and pork chops, and a steak, and burgers, and brauts, and some corn on the cob. YUMMMMY!

I got home and began posting pics on my blog... then all of a sudden it seemed Karissa was posting comments BEFORE the pics actually posted... get a life... seriously Karissa...

Just kidding, I love getting your comments!

cutest couple EVER! Kevin and I pose while I hold up the camera.. I can't believe it actually turned out! Posted by Picasa

Farnum's first fish that he would let be that close to him. He doesn't really like to touch them. Posted by Picasa

CUTEST LITTLE BOY EVER. And he is a total gentleman too. He's 7 and always says please and thank you. Wendy raised him to be respectful.. Grandpa would be very proud! Posted by Picasa

Tab is just way TOO cute in this pic! Derek is trying to untangle her line... silly Tabitha! Posted by Picasa

This is Tab (R) and her sister Wendy (L)(Farnum belongs to Wendy... Guess how old Wendy is?) Posted by Picasa

Wendy thinks that this little pike would taste pretty good with some tartar sauce.... I would never get that close to a fish with my face... ew. Posted by Picasa

The boys... fishing with marshmellows and corn on the cob. From Left to right. Farnum, dad, Kevin and Derek. just too cute. Posted by Picasa

Derek and Farnum. You can't really SEE it but Farnum is holding a fishing pole with his first fish ever. Look at how incredibly CALM the lake was... it was beautiful! Posted by Picasa

SEX OFFENDERS

Karissa posted links to the North Dakota Sex Offender list. There are 5 that live in Devils Lake. One of them.. listed below... lives down and across the street from me. I did not know this until Karissa posted the link and I checked it out. I want to ad that I live RIGHT ACROSS THE FREAKIN' STREET from the middle school. His house faces the playground... a clear view of the playground. notice what his age his victims are...

THIS SHOULD BE WAY WAY WAY WRONG! They shouldn't be permitted to live that close to a school!

on that note...

Last night I drove to GF to work a shift this morning at the hotel to keep my profit sharing money. Last night I hung out with Blake. On our way to Dairy Queen (I NEEDED a Mint Oreo blizzard!!!) we saw the sunset was exceptionally colorful. I apted on continuing our journey to the DQ.. Blake on the other hand "YOU KNOW YOU WANT TO go get your camera, I know you want to so just go do it.. DO IT" so he forced me to get my camera and take these photos. Unfortunately by the time we got out of town far enough to get some pics... the sun was pretty much done for the day. It clocked out and headed for the horizon, but I got some cool ones I think. Before all these oranges and reds, it was red to purple to pink to yellow... it was really pretty.

work was interesting. Some stuff has been changed (for the good) and it was a little weird going back after a month and a half. But It was nice to see peeps.

The clouds were really cool look'n last night. It looked like it was going to storm... but it just sprinkled instead.  Posted by Picasa

The thing I'd miss most if I moved away from ND. Posted by Picasa

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

I dont know why I didn't realize it until just recently... but If I were to have a big crush on a celebrity...which I usually don't... it would be johnny depp. He's old I know (well too old for me anyway) but I still think he's hot. He is also a very talented actor. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was excellent. Johnny Depp can pretty much play any role that he is handed. I saw Secret Window a couple weeks ago... and it was a good movie. I dont think I like the plot all that much, but he plays the lead role perfectly. ANyway, thats my thing about Johnny Depp. My new Hollywood crush.. yet I'm not too sure why. But for those of you who agree with me... here are some pics below for your enjoyment.

old enough to be a step father... but still hot... but not sean connery hot...cause he isn't THAT old yet. how old is Johnny Depp? Posted by Picasa

much sexier in real life! (or with the help of perfect makeup and lighting) Posted by Picasa

not so much hot in this one as he is totally psychotic, however... still somewhere on the hotness scale. Posted by Picasa

Art, music and a sunburn.

This weekend, we met Karissa and Doug in GF and we drove to Fargo to take in the Street Fair (or Art Fest as some may bave called it) It was HOT Saturday. 95 degrees with no cloud cover and hardly a breeze. We walked up and down Broadway for about three or so hours. There were WAY more vendors than I thought there was going to be. Lots of arts and crafts... enough to last me a month at least. There were painters, sketchers, photographers, crafters, jelly makers, tye dyers, and much much more. There was live music on every block. We had to break every block or so and sneak into an air conditioned building. It was good Isabella wasn't with us, she would have never made it in that heat. Out of the whole deal, Kevin and I bought homemade dip seasoning and one of those optical illusion wind chime thingies... it doesn't actually chime...its a rose and when the wind spins it, it looks like it's growing... oh and I got a sunburn...first of the summer! I haven't had much time to be outside for any long periods of time, so I dont' care about the sunburn, it was just fun to be outside!

ANYWAY, Saturday night we ate at a FANTASTIC restaurant in Moorehead, MN called The Speak Easy it's a 20's themed place where the waitresses wear all black with black ties and a tilted, black Fedora. The food was awesome and it was a nice break from the usual.

On Sunday we ate lunch at Space Aliens because they have the best BBQ sauce on the face of the planet! We met up with our friends Erik and Liz. Liz is due on Kevin's Birthday, so Liz, I hope you can hold little Emily in for about another week or so! It was nice seeing them again! We left Fargo and made a quick stop in Mayville to pick Isabella up from Karissa's mom's place. That is where we got those adorable photos below. Bell Bell wasn't in the best of moods, but thats okay, we interupted nap time, so we can't expect any better.

That was our relaxing weekend. Now I drive back to GF tomorrow so I can work a shift Wednesday morning. I need to stay on their payroll so I can be eligable to get my profit sharing MONEY. $4,000! I am short only 100 hours or so and I have until December to make it up. Only thing is that I need to work at least once every two weeks to stay on payroll so I don't get a separation notice. But that'll be cool to go back to GF Comfort every once in a while.

Hope everyone's week started out fantastic!

I make suckin' my thumb look cool. Posted by Picasa

"huh? wha... did you say something?nevermind, I don't care." If you look closely you can see a big crocadile tear running from her left eye... poor Isabella. Posted by Picasa

Her face lit up when Doug walked into the room... too cute Posted by Picasa

This looks like an action shot, like she's playing air guitar...like her daddy (someday doug, you'll get a REAL one!) but in reality she's just sitting there annoyed with those darn glasses on her face. Posted by Picasa

Nothing special

This pic is from my aunts 40th high school reunion. She asked me to take the pic... it turned out okay.
Two nights ago we went to "Fiddler on the Roof" which I have never seen. The local community theater "Fort Totten Little Theatre" puts on plays ever summer for the month of July. I've gone every year for the past 10 or so years. We always go with Kevin's parents. There was a dinner too. The dinner and play are held out on the reservation on a historical site. Fort Totten was used way way way back in the day for military purposes.... then as a school for Native Americans... which is praised a lot because it helped give indians an education... but I don't think people realize that these children were RIPPED away from thier parents and tribe during raids on their small villages... ANWAY... TANGENT.. sorry.... so anyway it is held in this fort which consists of about 8 brick buildings, which used to be the military bunks, and Captain's home, and church, and then school and dorms.. it was like a very small town. One of the buildings was turned into a very charming Bed and Breakfast which is where we had dinner. Then across the quad (all the buildings face a large open area, a place I'm sure was used for gatherings and such back in the day) sits the small theatre that used to be sodiers sleeping quarters. The ONLY air conditioned place in the Fort.

The play was the best we've seen so far. They have a new director and instead of casting people because of who they are in the community, they cast people because they were GOOD actors and singers. Usually we have to sit and listen to horrible singing and medioker acting because the only reason people got the part is because of what position they held on the park board, you know.. community 'A' listers. But this year the singing was OUTSTANDING! they actually harmonized and no one forgot their line! It was good.

Then on the way back to town (about 15-20 miles) we were driving by the lake and saw the COOLEST most SCARIEST lightning storm EVER! Too bad there was a TORNADO 4 miles away, or that would have been awesome. The lightning was constant and it was coming right for the city, we drove as fast as we could to get back into town before it hit DL. The radar showed, however, the storm going around us. I'm glad too cause it looked really nasty.

I've blabbed on enough about nothing.

My Amy's life was threatened.... with a gun!

My friend Amy just got a new job 3 weeks ago, she is the Manager of a Hot Topic in Brooklyn Center in a town near Minneapolis. She was working today and this chick came in with her 'friends' and her twin babies and she dumped a whole garbage bag full of merchandise on the counter and demanded a cash refund. Well, obviously the stuff was stolen.. many of the same items in different sizes, and the most expensive stuff. Well Amy said if she has a reciept that she can get store credit or the amount put back on a credit card if she used one... that is if she had the card on her. Well whattya know, the chick didn't have a reciept or the credit card she 'used'. So amy said she couldn't return the stuff. Well, the chick opens her baby bag and pulls a gun out enough for Amy to see it "don't make me, bitch" and then the chicks friends surrounded the cash wrap and one covered the phone with his hand... and lifted his shirt to show his gun that he had in his pants. Amy looked over toward the door, and there was more guys standing blocking the entrance with their arms crossed. The chick said in return she wants all the Converse shoes on the shelves. That triggered Amy's memory. There has been a group of people stealing a crap load of merchandise from Hot Topics in the Minneapolis area and returning it, buying Converse items and selling them on the streets. These were obviously the people. I dont' know how Security was called, but they started to walk in the hallways, and the group walked out of the store, after tearing down some of the display things, and everything on the counter making a big mess. Amy works in a shady area...one of the Assistant Managers of one of the other stores in the mall was stabbed recently. I told Amy she can't work there anymore. I love her way too much and now I have to think about her every day. Even though the cops KNEW what the people looked like, and that they had guns... they didn't do anything. They probably aren't even going to give them ANY extra security for the next couple days. I know this stuff happens every day in bigger cities, and that we're just lucky and safer here in ND, but it's still scary when it happens to someone you know.

No, really... he didn't beat me, I really fell down the stairs

I just fell down the stairs. For real people! I was going down into the basement to change my laundry over... and on the second step... my foot slipped out right from under me... and I was thrown down the stairs... ALL of them. There isn't one step that my wrist, my tail bone, and my ankle did not slam against... all 16 of them. I was falling for so darn long, I had many thoughts like "gee I should really stop myself" and "oh my god I'm still rolling down the stairs, how many stairs do we have?!" I hit my head against the railing! At the landing at the bottom, I was so confused... what the hell? Did I really just fall down the stairs? Yup! I did, and in between groans of pain, I laughed my ass off. Cause seriously, who falls down all their stairs when they are 24 years old? So now my ankle is swollen, and my wrist is bruized and my butt... well since you asked, it is having some sort of muscle contractions from being beaten against 16 stairs! My shoulder hurts, my elbow is scraped.... I can't believe I fell down my stairs... then posted about it! But I'll be laughing about this one for a LONG while!

What a klutz! I hope I can MOVE tomorrow morning!

Poor kitty! I can't believe someone could DO this to their cat! I found this on ebaumsworld.com If you've never see that website, you lead a very sheltered internet life. Posted by Picasa

It almost looks animated. Very funny, I feel bad for the cat, but at the same time, you have to laugh at the poor thing. Hey Josie, remember that time you tried to make Baby feel more cool last summer. This is much worse! Posted by Picasa

gin is the devil

Independence day was a blast! I got out to the lake around 11:15pm after work, and we shot off fireworks. There was this HORRIBLE band playing across the lake and the singer was obviously intoxicated... at least I'm hoping no one things they sound that 'good' sober! It really was the worst music I've ever heard, and to top it off they finished the night with some Tenatious D and "Tribute" or whatever it is called, so yeah, it was great.

Our good friend Jess was in town for a week. She and her husband, Matt, live in Twenty Nine Palms, CA. He's a Marine so they moved out there after their wedding. I love Jess to bits, and absolutely was ESTATIC to get to see her again. Blake and our friend Kelsey came to town from GF last night and we all went out (Amanda too!) and boy did I drink too much. Blake has proof, as he has a pic. of me kissing Carter (the bartender) on the cheek. Ah... gin. So today I layed low... very low as in didn't get out of bed until about 2pm and then I sat around all day until about 5 when I attempted to shower. Then I fell asleep again cause my head just POUNDED! but I'm better now, and ready for a good nights rest so I can be fresh to work in the morning!

Kevin says he is feeling a little 'monoish' again lately. I really hope his Mono isn't coming back, because that would just plain suck! I can't imagine feeling that tired CONSTANTLY! I think he should go to the doctor and get tested again. Thank God, now we have medical insurance!

I took some kick ass pictures of a misty sunrise last week at about 6:30am on my way to work. I took them with my film camera so I'll have to get the pics developed and scanned for you're viewing pleasure.

CONGRATS to Amber and Ben on their engagment, best of luck to you guys!

CONGRATS again to Janelle and Darren on the new soon-to be addition to their fam!

Happy B-DAY to KSoFM! He turned the big 2-9 today!

Even though Josie and Amadon have been to hell and back this week, I smile everytime I see their ultrasound pics... That baby is going to be a break in your bad luck streak! Everything will be right with the world once she is born!

My lill' sis is back in town for a while, it's nice to see her again, and so happy too! love ya hun!

Do you guys remember WRDPLYR? he stopped posting on his blog, he won't answer my email, and he hasn't commented for a while, I don't know him personally but I'm concerned cause it is weird that he just stopped posting one day. He works as a correctional officer in a jail, and I hope he is okay!

Happy Birthday America!

Hope you all are having a really good 4th of July! The city had a firework show last night, it was great. No matter how old you get, or how many fireworks you've seen, they are still fun to watch every year. I love the 4th of July, too bad I'm at work right now. But the fact that it is windy and cloudy and cold outside makes it not so difficult to deal with the fact that I am not at the lake right now. I may be going out there later tonight after work, cause Kevin and I still have fireworks we bought to shoot off. I love living in a city that you can shoot off fireworks yourself in city limits... not many places let you do that anymore.

Our kitty's meds seem to be helping him feel a little better, but this morning he let us know that his tummy still hurt when we picked him up- I hope the infection goes away soon, I feel bad for him!

oh, I better get going... laundry almost finished...
