Mario Brothers/Nintendo HALLOWEEN PARTY

Last night Kevin, Blake and I went to my friend, Kelsey's, apartment. Her and Her roommate Kristi threw a Mario Brothers theme party. They dressed up like Mario and Luigi and decorated everything. They had "warp" tunnels to separate all the different rooms, and coins and bricks hanging from the ceiling. They had pictures of mario characters all over. And of course, Nintendo. People played Mario 1 and 3 all night. Along with Duck Hunt. I went as Lil' Jon the rapper. Which was actually Kevin's costume from the night before for his Physical Therapy Class Party. He made a better Lil' Jon HOWEVER I did WIN a prize for BEST COSTUME! I think Kelsey just picked me because I was one of the only ones she knew. Because there was a lot better costumes there.
Kevin went as the Punisher, and everyone thought that was pretty cool. You couldn't come to the party without a costume, anyone who came not dressed up had to leave. But It was one of the biggest parties I have ever been to. LOTS of people, as you can see in the pics below. Vanella Ice was there, Mel Gibson from Braveheart was there, some witches showed up. We had a Teenage Mutant Niga Turtle there, Ron Jeremy was there with Trojan Man, a couple of whore like (ahem, excuse the language) fairies were there. It was a blast. We left at around 1:30. I feel bad for Kelsey and Kristi, they have to clean up after all these people! But, Enjoy my pics, and HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!!

Here are our hosts for the Halloween Party last night. Mario and Luigi Posted by Hello

Isabella Jolee Alyce Hunter

Doug and Karissa's baby Bella is 6 weeks old this week. She is adorable! She was born with a LOT of very dark hair on her head, like Karissa, but now it is turning a lighter color. Her eyes seemed to be very brown too, but those are turning blue, like Dougs. She is so cute, I love her to death.

My pet peeves

How the hell do you spell Peeves? Anyway,

I was thinking today of all the little things in life that bother me...not makes me mad, or annoys me, just bothers me a bit... and I realized there are a lot... and here are just a few, for your amusement.

In no particular order

1. Canadians (Wrdplr, close your eyes) who, when calling a hotel (in the states mind you) and ask for a quote on our rates and when you tell them, they ask "Is that in American or Canadian?" You will not believe how many times I get the question in a week! DUH people, you called the United States of America, where coincedentally, we purchase things in AMERICAN funds. I don't even know they are calling from Canada, why would I quote them in Canadian? And then they complain about the exchange rate... (which is pretty good right now) If you don't like it, don't come down here and spend money, the more you shop in the states, the better economy WE get and the less YOU get, making the exchange rate horrible again. Help your country, support your business owners!

2. People who don't know how to use the internet or a computer.

3. Hard pencil erasers that don't erase anything, they just make a big black smudge mark on your paper.

4. People who pronounce Photography like "fur-tog-raffy" (Blake, I love you, you know that)

5. I hate the words: fag, faggot, and homo. There is not reason to use these words, and they just sound rank comming from ANYONEs mouth.

6. Kittens who bite your toes 25 minutes before your alarm goes off at 6AM

7. When I get mad and people make that cat-hissing sound, and do that claw thing.... god I hate that.

8. People who talk slow like.................................uummmm.................thiiiiiisss.............................yeahhh.........................

9. "Wow you're tall, how tall are you" (yes, I know, I've been tall my whole life, I'm 5'11" get over it.

10. "Where you born in April?" "Is your middle name May?" I get this question at the hotel at LEAST every other day.

11. People who pronounce the letter Z as "Zed" I had this one woman spell her name for me and she was like "L" as in Lizzard, "I" as in Ice, "Zed" as in Zed.... what the? (wrdplr, I forgive you for saying zed, I mean it technically is gramatically correct, it''s not your fault :) )

12. When the katchup bottle makes that farting sound... and everyone laughs like they have NEVER heard it before!

13. Women who go on the Howard Stern Show and just stand there and act like they didn't think the guys were going to ask them to take their clothes off. IT IS THE HOWARD STERN SHOW !! They get mad when the guys start teasing them, and stop off set. I mean if you are going on the show, plan on getting naked, if not, then don't go on the show. I don't like the Howard Stern show, it bores me because I am a woman and I don't like to look at naked women, but the show is there for ONE reason and ONE reason only T&A.

Those are just a few, hope you enjoyed my rant of the day, continue with your normal living habits and forget I ever said anything :)

Bribing Kids with McDonalds is so very WRONG!

Has anyone seen "Supersize Me" Well if you have, you will totally understand this rant. While working with the photographer today, I saw about 10 families with small children. Almost EVERY single mom or dad said "What did I tell you, if you were good and smiled, we would go to McDonalds"

What is wrong with this you might ask?

Well, teaching children that they'll ALWAYS get something when they behave well, makes them do it for all the wrong reasons and will ASK for stuff when you want them to do something, thus spoiling them for behavior they should just have anyway. Punish them for bad behavior, don't reward them with material objects ALL THE TIME for good behavior. That is like teaching them bribery. I heard one dad say "If you sit pretty, you can get a ice cream cone" The kid says "NO! I want an ice cream cone! AND a Happy Meal..." The dad said " but you already ate supper" The kid flat out said as he crossed his arms "I"M NOT SMILING THEN!" and he glared into the camera. So the dad gave in, fine you can have a happy mean, now SMILE!

I'm not saying that rewards are bad, they aren't. But use praise, and fun activities and at least HEATHY things and the occational candy bar and cookies. Anyone? Am I wrong?! Or reward kids for behaving well when not bribed first. That be good. Like "Thank you for taking out the garbage and sitting well, how about an ice cream cone" Watch "Supersize Me" you'll totally get it.

FUN FUN FUN!!

There is this guy staying at the hotel, he is a photographer who works for a traveling photo studio and he is using one of our rooms as a studio. All day families come in and get their picture taken, and I told him I am a photographer, and he invited me to sit in with him while he does his thing. The idea of being at the hotel for hours after I didn'thave to... didn't sit well, but I was interested, so I came home, changed, blogged, and went back. It was really slow for like 2 hours. But then it picked up. I got there at 4 and stayed until 8. I learned a lot from this guy. Lighting large groups, positioning the camera around them, and how to pose people. He also knew how to make everyone laugh and smile. It was fun!! He was all into teaching me stuff, between families, he showed me all his equipment and how everything worked. He let me (well more like MADE me) help him during shoots like moving people around, asking me questions on what I think he should do and if I was wrong he would tell me why, and how to correct it (not that I was wrong often, mind you) He was a good teacher and I hope I get to see him tomrrow. He was this cute old guy, like 65, who was crunched over and walked with a cane and had really bad teeth and he talks with a really bad southern draw. I'm sure with all the traveling he does, it is a relieve to actually have a converstion with someone. Opposed to "move your head, stand still, spit your gum out, look at me, now smile... SMILE! BIGGER!"

Baseball and Cupcakes

Okay, so this World Series thing. All I know is what I was told: The Red Sox is my favorite team, that's what everyone is telling me anyway. I know that there are 7 games to play, and today we get to go eat lots of cheap food and cheer for our favorite team when we go to the bar and watch the 2nd game on the TV. I also know that the Red Sox all look like they just rolled out of bed and put their hat on. Hopefully they'll score a touchdown in the third quarter after the goalie hits a homerun.....
yes, that was a joke!

I made a cake the other day, I don't cook/bake very much but it turned out okay. So I think I'll try my hand at carrot cake cupcakes today. Sounds tasty! Soon, I'll be making souflets (spelling?) and crumpettes!

We almost DIED

So the below pictures are of the Power supply in our computer. Well... what is left of it anyway. Kevin went to turn on the computer this morning, and to his surprise, it didn't work. He opened the case and found this nasty sight. It appears that there was an actual fire (yes, with flame) IN our power supply. I could have died in an electrical fire. Luckily, we bought a new one from Best Buy and when we hooked everything up again, every thing worked. Meaning the fire in our puter just affected the power supply, thank GOD! I didn't lose any of my pics :) The charred parts are circled in green... Icky.

I don't exactly know what this does, but I know it isn't supposed to be black Posted by Hello
