Look What I can do!

This morning Amber and Alexis helped me shoot the "Future Firebirds" This is when little kids get paired with a member of our Varsity BB team (Devils Lake Firebirds) and they hang out and play ball, and learn stuff. They get buttons with pics of them with their "big buddy" to wear to the BB games. Its cute. ANYWAY, Amber helped pose, THANK YOU A BUNCHES! and Alexis was on smile patrol. This was the first shoot that I did where I acually TOOK the pictures. The gym only had one wall of outlets (and being a the bad photog that I am, I only remembered one extention cord) so the back grounds turned out crappy, but I don't think the parents will care, and I did it for free so.... It was fun, there was about 50 little kids and 6 BB players. I had fun, and I got to see 4 of my second cousins (two from each side). I like the way the pictures turned out, but I wish I had a back drop or something cause that is just horrible with those red bars there.I also made a new Border template for the High School's dance team. We took their pictures earlier this week, and they needed a Memory Mate, so I whipped this one up and I like it. I just hope they do.So I'm having a pretty good weekend so far. In a pretty good mood too!

Am I the only one who can't post comments on anyone's blog? That word varification thingy is messed up. EVERYTIME it asks for it, it is the same thing "smenita" and I type it in correctly and it says it is wrong. :*(

So here are my comments summed up for all involved:

Alicia: Good job, I'm glad your in the final stages of Job Corp, I KNEW you could do it, you'll have a good job in no time!

Doug: I like your drawing a lot, Its just wierd to see you drawing out of your "style" and I like to think I know what your style is.. I think I'd be able to pic one of your drawings out of a group of 10 drawings. This sketch is cool, but I know that you could have done better if you took more time, and didn't make your scribblings so obvious (scribblings are different than lines) But who am I, seriously, to say. Its cool that you pick up on new technique (ones you've used but not that often) so quickly.

Karissa: Moms are supposed to let their kids watch TV once in a while, if you DIDN'T let her watch cartoons I'd call you a bad mom.... its only for a little while so you can do some chores!

Mom: Those pics of Zoey are hilarious! I remember putting my feet on those radiators in the winter... and my gloves and hats.

KSoFM: Ew..... about the cherries.I haven't read all the blogs yet... hopefully by then I'll be able to comment :)Have a good weekend!

I wouldn't think quality would be a huge issue if you're doing it for free anyway.
At least you're getting to do some shoots on your own, without having to be an assistant to people you're better than.
By the way, I think the comment problem is onjust your end. All my comments have posted.

I haven't had any problem making comments. I was wondering if you saw the pictures yet. She looked so funny sitting like that. I used Alicia's camera after I set the quality higher. It helped a lot.

April, those are some really nice pictures. I wish I could get better results from my digital camera, and I suspect that probably a large part of being a "good photographer", as you are, is knowing how to light your subjects well and not relying only on the flash. You've probably seen the stunning photos of Hurricane Katrina devastation on the Operation Eden website. One of the posts, here, is especially interesting: Clayton Cubitt (the photog) talks about how he got the cool portraiture effect used on some of the poignant shots of storm survivors.

Keep snappin' !!

What's going on with your blog?? Yesterday I couldn't even post a comment. It's weird I'm having the most problems with yours. They were all kind of funny Tuesday and Wednesday but today it's only yours.
