long weekend full of stuff

I don't feel like typing... so I'll just give ya the short version....which we all know turns into the long version after the first couple sentences...

we went to GF
we looked at houses
we found a house
we started the paperwork and love our realator
we didn't officially put in an offer cause we need to talk to the bank first.
we rang in the new year at Blake-a-roo's with Amber, Ben, Karissa (minus Doug and Isabella) and of course, Blake.
We partied, it was fun, pics to follow in no particular order (cause Hello is funked up, and posts pics wherever it feels like... so there is no order)
we shopped
we looked at the house again... the owners are currently moving so the house was a little... out of place.

I went wedding dress shopping with Amber today, that was a total blast! I think she needed the FUN part of planning your wedding. She found a couple really cute dresses and she can tell you more about all that fun stuff.

We had a fun weekend overall... but on our drive home, we decided that maybe it isn't the right time for us to buy a house. We could afford it with a bunch of budgeting and number scrunching... but we want to ENJOY having a little extra money before we just jump into buying a house and having to tighten our spending. Besides, the market is small right now given the season, so a lot of homes may become available later in the year, or maybe even NEXT year... who knows... we just didn't want to buy one of the first ones we fell in love with. The house was built in 1911 and has a lot of character and potential.... but it comes with it's cons as well... like high heating bills and some repairs and just the fact that it is old and needs more "upkeep"

we're thinking of finding someing to rent while we save, and find a home when we're sure we've looked at ALL the options, not just a few.

So there you have it.

Happy New Year everyone!
