a rant from a cranky, bored and tired young lady... pay no mind.... this too will pass.

There is nothing to do in this town. EVERYTHING closes early except the bar (which is only open until 1) All the resaurants close by 10pm. All ofclose downtown s at 5pm. Walmart closes at 9 I think, the grocery store closes at midnight, and the only thing open all night is ONE gas station and McDonalds.. And people wonder why we have such a high meth rate... people are BORED! Why is there vandelism? Because they closed the youth program for kids 12-18 due to lack of funding. Kids can't "cruize" because of the gas prices. As for people my age... there is only 3 movies showing at a time and they only play them once a day... at 7pm. The bowling alley is overrun by kids 9-18 (cause there is no where else to go)
I need a hobby.
I've played so much Snood that I dream of people with blue round heads or purple triangular people chasing me.
I was going to go to the lake, but there really isn't a lot to do there either.
I know this feeling will pass, because I'm not bored all the time, we can usually find something to do. I'm just in a crappy mood and need to complain.
I dyed my hair... well... the "professional" lady "highlighted" my hair... and by highlighted I mean completely F*#%ed it up by lightening my whole top layer (which she cut without telling me she was going to LAYER it (I don't layer my hair) BLOND.. It doesn't look BAD it just isn't what I wanted at all. I paid the lady and went on my way. I'll post pics as soon as there is one to post.
I worked at the hotel on Friday. Since it is a long weekend, there are people from Canada who came down to shop all the Labor day sales. Almost all of them complained about how high the gas prices are and how because the prices are so high, maybe we should lower our rate at the hotel so they can better afford to travel to GF... first of all you're only paying a coupon rate of 39.99/night. Second, if you can't afford the gas, (which I'm sure is affecting Canada too) then wait to travel, and keep your grumblings to yourself cause you CHOSE to fill your tank and drive here to shop, PLUS it is effecting us as US citizens as well. Then at least 50 percent ended that conversation with something like "too bad about huricane Katrina, we feel so bad for your country.... (if they would have stopped there it would have been fine...) "but if your president would get off his ass and do something to help, maybe there wouldn't have been so much crime and suffering"
okay, so maybe some US citizens would agree with that (I'm not the biggest Bush fan out there either) but come on... don't be hating like that. There are just some things one man can not control... like MILLIONS of people becoming HOMELESS in just minutes! I'd like to see a Prime Minister and Parlement do any better, faster. The only thing US AND Canadian citizens know is what we hear on the media, and some people (US citizens included) get too caught up in the politics of it all that they forget the Mother Nature and the whole balance of the worlds population can not be controlled. so when a city of millions is there one day and gone the next, we're just gonna have to deal, grieve the losses, and move on.

rant rant rant rant rant rant rant.............and I'm done.
