Happy Birthday Fuzzybutt

Oh and America too. Fuzzybutt turn the big 3 tomorrow! Ah, how I remember his tiny little kitten fuzz. Tomorrow his present is a little milk and a small piece of steak, and a fresh pack of catnip mice.

what. You don't celebrate your cats birthdays?... shutup and mind your own business then!

The Rodriguez trial starts on the 6th. I hope they pick a good jury, one that will give him the death penalty. Oh shit, I thought I was against the death penalty... ooops, oh well, for him, I'll change my opinion.

Tomorrow we're going to watch the fireworks that the city is putting on and call it a night. We usually buy some and shoot them off, but you can't do that in city limits here, and we can't go to the lake. Ah, less misquitos this way. (yasureyabetchya we watch for misquitos in these here parts of the country)
oh god.

This weekend was busy with Canadians on their long holiday weekend. Saturday was Canada Day. Now answer me this: Why did they all come to the states to celebrate Canada Day?

We finally picked a color for our living room walls, and a furniture color, so now all we have to do is FIND furniture. Harder than it sounds really. But its fun going into the stores and dreaming of all the things i COULD Have if I won the lotto. I'll take pics, of course, when it is all done.

There's gotta be more to life....

Well, I think I've reached the GRRRRRR point with the general public. Its getting really hard to keep smiling and not treat every person that walks into the hotel like they are my arch nemisis.

Kevin decided yesterday that I do not have high blood pressure because I vent my annoyances... I vent A LOT. I'm a complainer. If I don't like someone or something... you're gonna know about it. But if that means that I am less stressed and the baby is less stressed than... so be it... I will continue to bitch about everything that annoys me. I've always been that way, ask my mom. I'm lucky that most of the time, I can be funny about it... so its not so annoying to hear me complain... more like entertainment. (or so thats what I tell myself... shhhhh.) People can laugh at how worked up I get about stuff.

One of my biggest pet peeves, is when I am treated with no respect for NO reason, just because I am the one HELPING or WORKING, and not the one being helped. Like guys that walk with their penis'. I call these guys penis walkers. They walk like MANLY MEN, with thier hands in their pockets, with stupid shit eating grins on their faces and act like COMPLETE ASSHATS!
EXAMPLE:
Guy comes to checks in. It is too early to check in (10:30) so his room isn't ready just yet. He chuckles and says "go fuckin' figure" his wife looks pissed and she gives me a look and says "NO ROOMS!, NONE! how long do we have to wait?"
I tell them that check in is 2pm, and checkout is 11, so the people that rented that room last night are still in that room, and we have to wait for the housekeeper to clean it.
ASSHAT: "How long does THAT take, we have stuff in our cooler that has to be in a fridge, and we have a game to get to BY 2pm, so there is no question that we simply HAVE to check in now, or very very soon"
ME: "well if you want you can leave your things in our fridge in the kitchen until your room is ready"
ASSHAT: "uh.. no."
ME: "I'm sorry but I'll be at LEAST an hour before you're room is ready. But if you want, we can give you a different room, it won't be a suite like you have now, but we can put a fridge and microwave in there for you and we can get you in to that room now"
ASSHAT: "if thats what we absolutely HAVE to do, then we have no other choice, but I'm not paying for the fridge and microwave, and I want a discount, I'm not paying the suite price for a regular room and I'm not paying for breakfast because we're not eating your donuts and coffee here in the morning"
ME: "Sir, our breakfast is complimentary, we do not charge, and there is actually a lot more than just donus and coffee" and If you want to check in now, I will have to charge you for the fridge and microwave, or you can wait for an hour and get your suite that has a microwave and fridge"
ASSHAT: Why do you have make this so damn hard?"

and that is when I wanted to jump over the desk and give him the "what for"... but I cracked a very fake and sarcastic smile, appologised and asked him again what he wants to do.

He threw his credit card at me, and told me he wants a room NOW so whatever I have to do.

After he leaves and gets his shit from his car, he goes down the hallway, I hear him say "are you SHITTING ME!" (I want to run and never come back) His wife has just informed him that there is no elevator and they are on the second floor) all of a sudden this penis walker comes charging around the corner and is all like "give me a room on the first floor"

"I can't, this is the only one ready right now, like I said, check OUT is 11... it is 10:45... there is only one clean room. I'm sorry" Actually there is more than one clean room, but they are all the same room type and all on the second floor)

He goes upstairs, he comes down, and I don't know WHAT made me do it but I asked him how that room is going to work for him. (habit I guess)

"What do YOU think? It'll have to do I guess, but I want to talk to a manager in the morning"

okay buddy. I'll be the one standing here tomorrow. I will be the one you yell at. I will be the one you hate forever, and blame for everything wrong in your life, including your extremely small penis.

WOW, if you made it through that whole thing, congrats and thank you.

oh, and they were Canadian and they blamed me for starting their "Canada Day HOliday weekend like shit"

What if you were such an asshole, that you got your jollies from yelling at poor defenseless front desk employees? DOn't take your problems out on me!

Kevin went to Valley City with Doug and Derek, they went to Kevin's uncles farm land to look at old cars. I know, as much fun as that sounds, I opted to stay home, and I had to work. But I'm sure male bonding was enjoyed by all :)

Nurses, Doctors and Patients.... OH MY!

Went to the doc yesterday. He didn't do jack shit for me. I dont like him, I don't like Altru Health Systems. I don't care if they DO employee my husband... he has problems with them on his end too. This is just too big of a story. But I dont' think their whole system of sharing data works AT ALL. I'm sick of having to explain to EVERYONE every time I go in what is going on with me. THey should know, it should all be right there in that tiny little handy dandy file folder you have in your hands... but no. He didnt have a clue what my ultrasound from three weeks ago said. He blew me off when his beeper went off and threw the Kleenex at me to clean off the Sonogram (hearbeat monitor) gel off my tummy as he dashed out the door saying "I'll see you in Four weeks!" I didn't have time to ask questions, I didn't have time to ask him "why are you not doing an exam.... not that I LIKE to be violated everytime I see you, but I was bleeding, and I would like to make sure everything is still okay, just so I can sleep better at nights" but no, he runs out of the room.

SO Kevin called the clinic. He used his special powers to get me an appointment that I couldn't for THE LIFE OF me get last week. SO now I have an appointment with a REAL OB doctor... not just a family practitionor. I get to see the SAME doctor everytime I go in, and hopefully they'll know what they're doing and I'll feel a little more trustworthy in their care. Go Husband, way to put the smack down.

My official "is it a boy or girl" ultrasound it August 1st at 9am.... I'm not getting my hopes up... but I hope we'll be able to tell... Sam's had like 6 ultrasounds... and they still don't know what she's having! Thats only in one month! Am I excited HELL YEAH! THe doc was a little surprised that I wasn't showing much. He also said I should be feeling the baby move... I think he is on crack, because everything I've read (and Karissa backed me up on this one) said that most first time moms don't feel any movement until like 20 weeks or later. I'm on ly 15 weeks. But whatever. In a little over 4 weeks, I'll have ultrasound pics to post... how exciting!

R & R

Karissa, Doug, Kevin and I went to the lake Friday through today. We had a blast... pretty much doing nothing... well, not NOTHING, but close to it :) When we got there Friday we kind of just sat around and relaxed. There was a party two doors down with about 100-125 people, they had a live band that we could here so that was cool. It was the owner's 40th birthday, they own a bar in town, so they're pretty popular, especially since they offered free beer, that always brings um' in.

Saturday, we went to Sully's Hill Wildlife Game Reserve. We visited their new Visitor Center, and hiked up the BILLION steps to the top of Sully's Hill. My calves hurt, and that whole idea was just stupid... I hurt and being preggers, I had to go to the bathrrom the minute we reached the top.... but the view is pretty, and Karissa had never been up there, so it was worth listening to her bitch with me all the way up.

On Sunday, my Fam came out. Mom, Dad, Alicia and Ryan. and my aunt and uncle, and Tab and Derek.

I left to go into town to attend Amber's bridal shower, which was fun! Amber made off with a bunch of AWESOME gifts, and her aunts and mom are way funny. Sam and Mandy were there, so it was nice to have peeps I knew besides Amber. Its crazy that the wedding is only a month away! Amber... getting nervous yet? How many times do you have to hear THAT question in a day! Sam has a cute little baby belly. I hope I can look that cute when I'm that far along :)

Tonight I was walking leisurely down our stairs to the basement..babying my poor injured legs from climbing Sully's Hill and paddle boatng, and I slipped.... AGAIN... and fell... AGAIN down the stairs. DOWN ALL THE STAIRS! AGAIN! My elbow is swollen and my ankle is sore but I think thats all I hurt. I'm so freakin' clumsey... seriously! That is the third time this YEAR that I've fallen down stairs. I've forbidden myself to walk down the stairs holding the baby. I told Kevin he has to install a railing for me... like I'm 80... and maybe I won't fall. But I seem to be fine. I told Kevin that soon, people are going to stop believing the whole "I fell down the stairs" story because no one will believe that I really am THAT clumsey.

Now I have to go back to work tomorrow. This weekend went by WAY too fast

Saturday wasn't so pretty. Around 5pm, we saw this front go over the lake... it was a little looming, but it just rained a lot with a few crashes of thunder. Posted by Picasa

Doug working on the next Golden Brown comic which is posted NOW!, check it out.www.bonedaddycomics.blogspot.com! He didn't let us look at it all weekend until he was done :) Posted by Picasa

Top of Sully's Hill. I WILL NOT be climbing all those stairs again any time soon, that was dumb... just dumb. Posted by Picasa

Karissa and I, it took us a while to get up all the stairs, this is us chillin' at the half way point :) Posted by Picasa

AHHH... Doug and Karissa enjoy the scenic outlook. Posted by Picasa

NO WINDOWS! I don't know WHY! Some Native American belief of somesort, but I don't imagine the students are very... happy... not seeing the light of day for 6 hours! Posted by Picasa

On the way to Sully's Hill we went through Fort Totten on the Reservation, and their high school has NO windows.. absolutely NONE... except for those ones on the door there... could you IMAGINE!! Posted by Picasa

FINALLY! Today I got my AlienBees. MY PHOTOGRAPHY LIGHTS!!! WOO HOO!!

Today Kevin stayed home from work. He went back to work Monday afternoon, however working monday and yesterday has been too much for him too soon, and he isn't fully recovered from his whiplash and so he broke down and took his pain meds today. Which means he wasn't feeling "with" it all day and we both fell asleep periodically throuout the day. I'm not feeling the greatest either (I think I'm getting a cold or a flu or something icky) so we layed around all day. Except when we got up and went to the bank because I felt like a big lazy bum and had to do SOMETHING.

The bridesmaids dresses for Amber and Ben's wedding came in today so I stopped by and tried the dress on and I think it is GEORGIOUS! It fits a little big, but thats PERFECT because it'll fit me perfectly in a month when I have a little more belly to fill it out. The color is beautiful, and the cut will look very flattering on all of the bridesmaids, I'm VERY excited! Its really fun to get all dressed up and have somewhere to go and look FABULOUS!

Even though I got my lights today, I haven't done anything with them because its been such a lazy day, and even if I did get them all set up, I don't think FuzzyButt would stand still long enough to let me take his picture, and Kevin can barely move. So.... any volunteers? I'm doing Liz's (non of you know her) wedding July 8th. Just around the corner now I guess!

I've HATE Altru. (the health system that RUNS grand forks, the ONLY place to give birth in GF too) Even though Altru pays our bills and Kevin is employed with them, I hate them. I've seen 4 different doctors since I've been pregnant, and EVERYTIME I've called or came in I end up being transferred to about 3 or 4 different people before I find the right place or doctor they are just too confused there. How many times do I have to tell people my allergies?! Shouldn't they have my ONE file that says those important things... instead I waste about 10 minutes going over the same damn things with every freakin' person I speak to everytime I go there! What if it was an emergency situation and I'm not able to tell them what I'm allergic to... and then they give it too me, and I die, because they can't get my damn chart in time even though that place has like 3 different charts floating around. rant rant rant... and these people are ripping a child from my body.... and I don't trust them... this is something you SHOULD trust your doctor with.

SO thats my rant. We're going to the lake this weekend. I'm looking forward to it! MMMMM S'Mores!

Thanks for all your well wishes. Here's an update. Kevin is doing a little better. The Doc said he can't work until next week or until further notice. They put him on Valum (nasty shit, man) so he is either in one of two states of mind: 1)complete and utter pain where he can't move his neck... or 2)Completely baked out of his mind and crazy from the drugs, but a little more mobile. He can't work on patients when he is on drugs (legality thing, of course) and he can't drive his commute to Crookston if he can't turn his head. So he is seeing a PT at another clinic everyday this week. He says it feels better after his therapy so hopefully he'll be able to return to work Friday or Monday.

I went to another doctor yesterday. I will spare you details, but he said that it is a condition that is healing, but can very easily be a problem in the future. So he said I can't run, jump, bump, play sports, go on carnival rides, ride a car on bumpy roads.... you get the idea. No lifting anything, no pushing anything heavy..... basically stuff I shouldn't have been doing anyway but now I have to keep an eye on it..... like I can't carry laundry up and down the stairs (shuks) He said be a couch potato. I'm thinking that is going to be hard for the next 6 months...and I'll probably end up gaining a billion pounds and having an obese 20lb baby.

I have to go to a doctor again next week, and then have another ultrasound in three weeks to see if the bleeding spot has healed....

We watched the movie "Firewall" tonight. It was a really good movie. Very stressfull... I yelled at the TV... I became one of "those" people... "OH MY GOD, DON'T GO IN THERE.. RUN RUN RUN!!!" It was definately worth the rent.

Oh, and of course I can't forget to announce the news... MY LIL' SISTER IS GETTING MARRIED! AH....... I'm happy for her... Ryan is a nice guy. You can tell he cares for her and will take good care of her and be a good dad someday... SOMEDAY!

CONGRATS Licia! LOVE YA.

One big ball of SUCK.

This morning Kevin called me at work. "I kinda got into a car accident this morning"

WTF! SO there he was driving down the two lane road going about 50-60mph... Then a red SUV turns onto the highway in front of him, but turns to travel the opposite direction, but when he gets closer to passing Kevin, he drifts into Kevins lane.... so to avoid the head on collision, Kevin swirves into the ditch, thank God. He hits the ditch going abiout 40mph...so he gets thrown about, and by the time he comes to a complete stop, he realizes that overall he is okay but has a slight headache and is stiff all over. A guy helped him out. and Kevin never got the lisence plate of the ass hole that ran him off the road... He turned around to go to hospital (technically since he was commuting TO work, this accident falls under workmens comp... so he has to be checked out by a doctor asap to get drug tested and whatnot. Well, turns out that he has whiplash... and it just got worse while he drove to the clinic and waited in the waiting room... so they gave him lots of drugs and told him that he can't work today or Monday. He is in a lot of pain... poor hubby...

it doesn't end there...

So There I was at home around 6pm.... I will spare you details... I was bleeding.... too much to be normal for a pregnant woman... so I went to urgent care (I.E. Emergency room) I felt silly at first because women bleed all the time, and I didn't want to seem like I was overreacting...

I got lots of tests done inlcluding an ultrasound. They found bleeding near the placenta but couldn't pin point where it was coming from. So they diognosed me with "threatened abortion" sounds scary... I know. But It really means hightened threat of miscarriage. He said that no, he doesn't think I am miscarrying, but he says that the ultrasound was not normal, and that I need to see a doctor Monday. Well that scared the shit out of me.... he said no lifting (i was trying to do that anyway) no work for a day or so just to rest and see how things play out this weekend.

That said, it was still very cool to get an ultrasound so early. We got to see baby, and it was the best feeling in the world. especially seeing the little heart beat... and he was rubbing his face with his hand (I say "his" because I don't want to say "it") and even did a little jump for us and kicked around a little. Cutest little head and arms and legs.... :) Part of me is really really happy I got to see the ultrasound, but part of me wishes that they didn't, because then they talked about the hightened risk of miscarriage, and... well... I dont' think i have to explain the rest.

But I have faith that all will be well. He doesn't know how the bleeding started, but hopefully I just pulled something, or tore something from twisting wrong or somthing... I dont' know.

Kevin and I are just a sad bunch to be around I guess.... two hospital visits in one day.. this fam. has had enough. Time for rest.... Wish us well. ;)

jealous... yup. I'm human, it happens.

No fair. (this is where I whine like a 5 year old) I had to work (this is day 5 out of 7 straight days of work) and Kevin and Karissa and Doug got to go to Devils Run... but thats not the part where I get jealous, because I'm happy that Kevin got to go back to DL to see his parents, and Devils Run because i know he likes it.... but there was a street dance, and they ran into Tab, Derek, Amy, Rainy, and Jason and everyone hung out! Which is a surprise to me, because that group of people haven't seen eachother in a VERY VERY LONG time. They all laughed and had a blast... without me. (this is where you pat me on the back and say "there there") But here's my theory, I wouldn't have had fun anyway... because everyone was drinking, and I would have been the annoying sober pregnant lady.

BTW I don't want to hear "you better get used to it because when you have the baby, you won't be able to have fun like that for a long time... blah blah blah a baby changes everything.... no shit. I know that. So I don't want to hear it.

Okay, I'm done.

Elton John is my favorite this week.... I downloaded (legally or course... ;) a bunch of Elton John... and I'm lovin' it! I know... pathetic.... like how last month, when Mr. Toast told me his story about meeting Jefferson Airplane front man... I was stuck on them for a week. I'm thinking classic Madona for next week...

The Magic Number: 182

182 BPM

We got to hear the baby's heartbeat today!!! Coolest thing ever... and I mean EVER! A little beating little heart in my tummy... belonging to a little plum sized baby. I was nervous at first because the doctor couldn't find the heart beat at, it took like 5 minutes to find the right place, but then all of a sudden... wooshWOOSHwooshWOOSHwooshWOOSH.... so very very cool. Kevin lit up, and the doctor was like "theres your baby!" ANd I was like holy shit, theres my baby!

So that is my story of the coolest thing I've ever done. Then Dr. Chan went onto explain miscarriage, and how to know if you are having one.... I think maybe he should have STARTED with that little bit of sad and ENDED with "yay, your baby!" But he chose the other way around, you know as a reality check. Nontheless, we heard proof that my body does in deed know what its doing, and its doing a fine job at making a baby from scratch.... okay not from SCRATCH... maybe it followed the directions on the box, but you get it.

Then The Husband left me and the baby and the kitten to join Doug and Karissa and the rest of the people of the world that have lives. He went to Devils Lake for Devils Run. Devils Run is the weekend full of fun.... here's last years...scroll down to June 5th

What am I doing you might ask? Well I work this weekend, so I can't go. But, whatyagonnado?

Me and Mr. Pie.... quality time. We rented movies so I have something to do. Speaking of movies....we finally watched Broke Back Mountain. Without the Gay factor... that would have been a REALLY dull movie. I mean, if you've seen it, imagine what it would have been like if the main characters were just a hetero couple... BORING!, but throw in the gay lovin' and you get a blockbuster. Its a good story line though, and its good to get the whole shock value out of the way, so the next "gay" movie will be watched because its a GOOD MOVIE and not because it has gay characters that have sex for 5 seconds in the movie.
