Busy Little Bee...

I've been keeping myself pretty busy around here! I have Amadon and Josie's wedding pics to finish touching up, I have a co-worker's son's senior pics to finish up, I have to Make invites to Kevin's graduation open house, I have to make our work schedule, and I have to plan the details for that open house. Yet, I sit here blogging... can you tell where my priorities are?

My greenscreen worked okay for Logan's senior pics, there is still a faded green line around his body that, of course since I'm anal, I'm the only one that can see it. (JessicaRabbit, I know you're good with Photoshop... any suggestions?) The pics turned out okay though for it being the first time using Photoshop's background generator. I'll post lots of pics when I get enough motivation to re-install 'Hello'.

I would like to welcome my friend Jess to the blogging scene. I'm was overly joyed when I saw her commment on the last post. Jess moved to Cali... fornia that is. Her blog isn't up and running just yet, but I'll have the link when it is. I miss Jess, mostly because she's hot and an easy lay.. I mean...ah..er... because she has a interesting personality and I appreciate her.... nevermind. I love ya babe!

speaking of long-time-no-see friends, my buddy Amy came to visit this week. She moved to St. Cloud to be a manager in training for the Hot Topic there. We went out to eat with her. Her vibrant, colorful personality was very refreshing, and I miss her tons!

The new guy started at work today, my replacement. He's really nice, I like his slow, southern accent. He's from North Carolina, but he sounds more like he's from like alabama... hey I bet KSoFM and fam talk like that too... I never thought to put accents to blog posts... that sounds kinda fun... Anyway, this new guy is gonna be fine, and I think he'll get along with everyone too.

I sprained my ankle... couldn't tell you how though. All I know is that is hurts, it's bruised, and Kevin looked at it (being 2 weeks away from being a doctor of PT I think he's plenty qualified) and he thinks its sprained. damn.

all in all, I'm havin' a pretty good week. How about y'all? Oh and a side note, you know that song... I don't know the name, or who sings it... but it's something like "Live Like You were Dieing" well it sucks, and I'm sick of hearing it on EVERY station... it is a country song... keep it on the country stations! I HATE COUNTRY MUSIC! On that note.... Good Bye, and check for lotsa pictures later in the weekend :)

Goin' to the chapel

Amadon and Josie are getting married tomorrow. ABOUT TIME, geez I mean they've spent years planning and we've spend months anticipating and... no... actually they decided about 2 months (if that) ago that they were getting married, and we've spent about 2 weeks anticipating.. but I'm really happy that they pulled it off! I mean, honestly, I had my doubts. But everything came together and Josie was running full force for the past couple weeks to get everything done. I'm doing the photography so I'll have pics to show everyone come Monday. I'm glad her family decided to attend, I knew they would regret it if they didn't go. Tomorrow will be fun, we get to eat lotsa good food, party, and dance. Amadon and Josie will be husband and wife, which is gonna take some getting use to.

Well, better go pack...

stupid criminals

I know you have probably heard of some of these, but I wanted to share a couple stupid ciminal stories because I always love them, its hard to believe some people can be SOOOO incredibly DUMB!

When a man attempted to siphon gasoline from a motor home
parked on a Seattle street, he got much more than he
bargained for. Police arrived at the scene to find an
ill man curled up next to a motor home trying to steal
gasoline and plugged his hose into the motor home's
sewage tank by mistake. The owner of the vehicle
declined to press charges, saying that it was the best
laugh he'd ever had.

David Posman, 33, was arrested recently in Providence, R.I,
after allegedly knocking out an armored car driver and
stealing the closest four bags of money. It turned out
they contained $800 in PENNIES, weighed 30 pounds each,
and slowed him to a stagger during his getaway so that
police officers easily jumped him from behind.

The Belgium news agency Belga reported in November that
a man suspected of robbing a jewelry store in Liege said
he couldn't have done it because he was busy breaking into
a school at the same time. Police then arrested him for
breaking into the school.

Oklahoma City - Dennis Newton was on trial for the armed
robbery of a convenience store in a district court this
week when he fired his lawyer. Assistant district
attorney Larry Jones said Newton, 47, was doing a fair
job of defending himself until the store manager testified
that Newton was the robber. Newton jumped up, accused the
woman of lying and then said, "I should of blown your
[expletive] head off!" The defendant paused, then quickly
added, "- if I'd been the one that was there." The jury
took 20 minutes to convict Newton and recommend a 30-year
sentence.

R.C. Gaitlin, 21, walked up to two patrol officers who
were showing their squad car computer equipment to
children in a Detroit neighborhood. When he asked how
the system worked, the officers asked to use his I.D.
for an example. Gaitlin gave them his driver's license,
they entered it into the computer, and moments later they
arrested Gaitlin because information on the screen showed
that Gaitlin was wanted for a two-year-old armed robbery
in St. Louis, Missouri.

Drug-possession defendant Christopher Johns, on trial in March in Pontiac, Michigan, said he had been searched without a warrant. The prosecutor said the officer didn't need a warrant because a "bulge" in Christopher's jacket could have been a gun. Nonsense, said Christopher, who happened to be wearing the same jacket that day in court. He handed it over so the judge could see it. The judge discovered a packet of cocaine in the pocket and laughed so hard he required a five-minute recess to compose himself.

Police in Cottonwood(?), Idaho, were amused when they arrived to write up a burglary, and the homeowner told them that the thief got his VCR, his bong, and his stash of marijuana. Luckily, however, the thief had missed his marijuana pipe. The police ticketed the guy for possession of drug paraphernalia.

Portsmouth, R.I. Police charged Gregory Rosa, 25, with a string of vending machine robberies in January when he (1) fled from police inexplicably when they spotted him loitering around a vending machine and (2) later tried to post his $400 bail in coins.

The Ann Arbor News crime column reported that a man walked into a Burger King in Ypsilanti, Michigan at 7:50am, flashed a gun and demanded cash. The clerk turned him down because he said he couldn't open the cash register without a food order. When the man ordered onion rings, the clerk said they weren't available for breakfast. The man, frustrated, walked away.

FuzzyButt's Day of Adventure

Today the Resident Manager had to enter our apartment for a fire alarm inspection. I hate living on a University Campus in Family Housing. Not only does my apartment look like a slightly larger dorm suite with ALL cheap tile flooring and panel/brick walls, but we have to have a resident advisor like a dorm building. Plus we have to follow all the University rules like the silly "no pet policy" Now come one... what is there in this apartment that a cat can damage? There is no carpet, there is no paint on the walls cause they're PANELING! So this morning I packed up Mr. Fuzz's food dish, tarter control snack bites, and catnip turtle (that resembles a WW2 bomb victim)I shoved him into his carrier (took a good 15 minutes too) Let the crying begin... I brought him to the hotel with me and he chilled in a room while I worked. We had to wait until the darkness of night to bring him home, like swift ninjas we managed to get him in and out without being caught.

I don't know why I thought of this... but some of you faithfull readers are not familiar with North Dakota... in fact you could probably care less, but I'm just curious.. how much do you REALLY know? so here's a short essay quiz... not for anyone of you who LIVES here.

What is the state capital
Did you even know there was a North Dakota on top of South Dakota or did you think we're so close to Canada we might as well be Canadians? (Winnipeg is only 3 hours from GF)
Have you EVER heard of ANY news coming out of ND?
When you think of North Dakotans... what kind of person comes to mind?
Have you ever been to or drove through ND?
Have you seen the movie Fargo (Cause if you have, I'm sorry but that really is NOT a good example of ND... except for the cold... the accents are COMPLETELY exhaggerated and make us look like stupid country hick folk. The only people I've heard talk like that may be my grandparents or my great grand parents.

So, COMMENT people I WANT TO KNOW!

A Gosh Darn Good Day :)

I don't know why I'm in such a FANTASTIC mood today. I just am... and I'll take it too because it feels GREAT to be energetic and happy! I woke up today and I was in a good mood, I went to work and everything went very well, I got home and here I am, still in a great mood!

Tonight I'm ordering a greenscreen. I have an extended version of Photoshop that has a background generator in it, which means I can now take pics of peeps in front of the greenscreen and photoshop any background I want in. HUNDREDS of backgrounds, even if it doesn't work great, at least I tried and I think It'll be fun to play around with.

It is 86 degrees outside right now, last week it was 50... I hate North Dakota. Snow snow snow snow snow freezing rain cold sprinkle.... 90 DEGREES! PERFECT weather for the lake... not-so-perfect weather to sit in your UNAIRCONDITIONED apartment (made of brick and tin) with as less clothes on as possible and a hot Fuzzybutt trying to lay on your chest and shoulders. However, we are supposed to get our first thunderstorm of the season tonight, and I hope they're right because I love the first thunderstorm, it makes the grass greener, and the trees bud faster, and the smell is the best smell in the world!

My sister left for Job Corp yesterday, last time I talked to her, we argued and I left without saying bye or I love you, and I never do that... so I feel bad, but my sister knows I love her and that I can be a major bitch sometimes and I don't mean it. I'm very proud of her to make the decision to go back to school to get her HS diploma and to get into a trade that she'll like, shows that she has initiative to get her life on track again. I didn't see her working at her McJob forever so it's good she is finally going for what she wants. My little sis is 18 and a spunky little thing, she has a comeback for every line you throw at her, and when she is right... she is right. end of story. That characteristic is good in a person though, makes them a strong buisness mind. She isn't afraid to be herself... she is who she is... anyone who doesn't like it... screw you. That is her attitude. So, Dee Dee, if you get to read this when you're gone... I LOVE YOU and GOOD LUCK!

Kevin is yelling at FuzzyButt cause "KITTENS DON'T EAT STYROFOAM!! NO NO NO, GET THAT OUT OF YOUR MOUTH, LET GO LET GO!"

Okay, off to enjoy more of my good day!

with threats on my life.... I post

My last couple days I've been in a icky, negative mood, that is why I have not posted. I don't want to be one of the "oh pity me... my life sucks because..." Cause my life doesn't suck, I've just had a crummy week, and I'll get over it. Just thought there is no point in brining you all down with me.

Kevin has left for the weekend to go to DL for Amadon's bachelor party which is either tonight or tomorrow night. Josie's Bachelorette party is tomorrow, and because I'm a complete moron I don't know if I can go. I always work morning shifts..VERY rarely do I work 3-11, but I scheduled myself to work the evening shift this weekend because I know Blake prefers working the AM shift and I thought I'd give myself a nice weekend to sleep in (mind you I made the schedule BEFORE the bachelorette party was planned). A co worker of mine said she can probably work for me tomorrow for a couple hours so I can go to the party.

It is my friend Jason's B-Day today so HAPPY BIRTHDAY JASON. As if your parents weren't dredding tax day as it is... then you come along and make that day... I mean, a blessing, you made their tax day a wonderful event full of joy. yeah. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Our Manager at the hotel interviewed a potential replacment for me when I leave. He was really nice, and has an awesome resume and referral letters. That place can use a new mind there anyway, it's good he came along when he did. Part of me, however, is screaming "NO NO NO! I won't go, you can't make me! NO ONE can REPLACE ME! you're supposed to say "NO ONE IS AS GOOD AS YOU ARE, IT IS GOING TO BE TORTURE INTERVIEWING YOUR REPLACEMENTS!!" But then the more mature side of me realizes that someone has to take my place and soon it'll be like I wasn't even there. He'll find ways to make things better, and that is good for business. But I'm on to bigger and better things right? right.

Did you know that in 2004, the word most commonly googled AND looked up on websterdictionary.com was 'blog' weB LOG.... BLOG

So as you can tell... a whole lotta nothin' goin' on here. I think I spend too much time waiting for something interesting to happen to me, so I can post about it instead of going out and FINDING something interesting and exciting to post about.

I found out today that there are an estemated 800 people to attend Kevin's 'hooding ceremony'... I have to stand in front of 800 people and hood Kevin. Doesn't sound too bad right, then why am I scared out of my mind and I feel like I'm gonna throw up when I think about it?

I know I'm addicted to blogging because I come home and think "I wonder if Karissa posted pics of Isabella, or if JessicaRabit has any more crazy stories to tell, or if KSoFM posted new pics of their bambino... or maybe blake updated his livejournal... and so on and so on. If you are checking my blog as often as I check yours... then you all have a serious problem, because I feel like a stalker most days.

Anyway here's a cookie for making through the whole post and not skipping the middle part... just to get to the cookie

So a Duck, a pig, and a kangaroo walk into a porn store...

There was absolutely no punch line to that joke... sorry, you can make up your own...

I Had a GREAT birthday! Karissa gave me a strawberry Shortcake party! Fun Fun Fun! Thanks Karissa!

I drove to DL last night, thinking I was going to clean up the apartment a little (because apparently, unlike MOST renters I've rented from, this guy thinks it is the NEW renters responsibility to clean up after the OLD renter...) I was planning on cleaning the kitchen cabnets, and stove and sink and fridge.. all that jazz, but I didn't get to that. I woke up this morning to the news that my 18 year old sister lent her car to an UNlicensed 17 year old friend... who managed to drive my sisters car right into the LAKE! yup... INTO THE LAKE! No one was hurt, and alcohol was probably involved (no one really knows). But my sister's car is TOTALLED! She lost her stereo too, and her camera and some other random items. My dad was called around 5:30am and had to get up and get a tow truck guy and drive 20 miles out to the lake and have it towed back to town (not a pretty tow bill I'm sure) So now my sister doesn't have a car, and my dad is understandably very angry.

Anyway, I got to hang out with my friend Tabitha today, which was nice because i don't see her often. Then I went to the apartment thinking "okay, just a little light cleaning..." but when I got there I sat down and opened my big RubberMade container full of my pictures... pics from 15 years ago... pics from our wedding... pics from two weeks ago, it was fun looking at all of them. Then I found the tub that is full of the notes and letters I recieved when I was in high school from Kevin and all my friends. Kevin's notes have a whole portfolio folder to themselves. It was a blast reading through them. Notes like "did you hear from blah blah blah that so and so did this to him and her and now this and that..." It was funny!

On my drive home, there are pairs of ducks and geese on the side of the highway, and I saw a couple of muskrats scurring across the road (almost hit one) if you have never seen a muskrat... my god they are ugly and vicous looking! I know that isn't too exciting, but it was 60 degrees today, and I'm just happy it is warm enough to see those little critters!

Kevin is still pretty sick. He left work early yesterday and today because he was just too tired. His legs felt weak and he had no strength left to hold up patients while giving them physical therapy. He's sore and feels warm all over all the time. He went to the doctor, but of course all the doc said was to get lots of rest. hm... um... okay.

GO SHORTY IT'S MY BIRTHDAY

Yeah, I soooo went there...

SO I turn the BIG 2-4 tomorrow! What did I want for my birthday you might ask? In coming to the realization that I am now closer to 30 than I am 18, in all my mature, adult-like manner, I told my husband and my friend Angela that I was, indeed, getting a surprise Strawberry Shortcake party. As a small child, I loved Strawberry Shortcake and all her colorful friends, but I never got a SSC themed B-day party. About three months ago, Angela and I were walking through the store and I was elated to see that Ms. Shortcake was making a comeback! Kevin: "Do you REALLY want this, I mean SERIOUSLY, Dear, it's Strawberry Shortcake" However, Angela called and informed me that she may not be in town tomorrow, as she is away visiting a friend that just had a baby, so I totally understand why she can't make it, but it was her job to get together the Straberry Shortcake part of the party (or so Kevin tells me, I wouldn't know because it is a surprise B-day party) So I guess we're just gonna go to Paradiso's and maybe I'll wear the Sombraro while a pack of unenthused employees sing me Happy Birthday. Karissa said we can go to her place and have a get together there too, so it sounds like all is not lost.

Oh, and for those of you who are going to ask... YES, My real name is April, YES I was born on April Fools day, YES that is why my parents named me April, and NO my middle name is NOT May!

I started watching American History X tonight. I've seen the movie before, but in mixed up fragments. I was really getting into it, then the DVD started to skip! OH that just pissed me off, but then I turned the channel to Oxygen Network and "Beaches" was just starting. That is one of my all time FAVORITE movies. It reminds me of a time when I was like 12, I spent the night at my friend Nikki's house and she had a little weiner dog and a really hot older brother. We stayed up really late and watched that movie twice in a row.

So this friend of Angela's, we'll call her J. I kind of know her, I did her wedding pics back in September. The whole time she has been pregnant her new husband has pretty much givin' a rats ass, he's been kind of a big jerk the whole time. Well, J was a week and a half over due, the doctor told her he wants to try to induce her, and if that doesn't work, do a C-section. So, knowing this, her husband decides to KEEP a doctors appointment that he has in a town 45 minuts away for the day she is supposed to have the baby. To make a longer story short... he missed the birth of his first child, ON PURPOSE! "It's an apointment that I can't reschedule" Then, insyead of hurrying back to be with his WIFE and NEWBORN DAUGHTER, he doesn't leave for home until later that evening. he did get her a big boquet of flowers... In my opinion, that sooo does NOT make up for the fact that he missed the birth. Okay, I'm done ranting. Hopefully, he'll come around and start pulling his weight with the whole baby thing. Besides, it really isn't my business and well, I probably shouldn't be posting about it, but no one knows who I'm talking about anyway.

Kevin still has Mono. He's sleeping less, but is still feels run down. He was feeling well enough to play World of Warcraft for 2 hours though, so thats a good sign.

I got my Income taxes back, and Kevin sold the Camaro, and he also got the rest of his Financial aid, so we're payin' off the credit card. Of course we're only doing that so we can replace that debt with debt from buying much needed new things for our apartment like a washer and dryer. Not only that, but we have 2 different rents to pay for 2 months. I guess that money couldn't have come at a better time!

Well, about that time for me to take my generic brand sleep aid liquidcaps and head to bed. I don't really think those things work to GET me tired enough to go to sleep, but they help to keep me sleeping once I've fallen asleep, however, in roughly 5.5 hourse I'll be trying to over power the sleep aid with Red Bull and a mocca Frapochino in the morning. ahh... my drugs of choice,
Have a good April Fools day everyone! Keep your hyjinks (sp?) and practical jokes on a legal level, and have a good day!

don't think the landlord would be feeling this color... I love this color, I love bold colors on walls, but alas, I am but a wee little renter...  Posted by Hello

I liked the Blue the best too, but I really really don't think the landlord would.. he said "nothing too bold, and nothig out of the ordinary... It's not right for the building (even though I think it is PERFECT for a 1930's restored building!) So Kevin didn't like the yellow idea, so I whipped this up to show him what I have in mind (the carpet color is close to the one in our apt.) It is hard putting 2-D objects in a 3-D photograph by the way...The Dining room will have an Italian theme... by the way, I get a week to be obsessed with my new apt. then I'll talk about something else, I promise! Posted by Hello

WALL COLOR

Help me pick out the color i'm gonna paint my living room! It has to be landlord excepted, and I don't want white because... well... its boring. Our furniture will probably be black, and the wood is oak. Whatya think? My limited photoshop skils came in handy...

i LIKE IT, BUT I DON'T THINK THE LANDLORD WOULD!, IT MAKES THE WOOD LOOK NICE THOUGH... Posted by Hello

MY FAVORITE IS THE YELLOW..  Posted by Hello

The Husband has MONO... EWWWW!!

SO I just got done writing a whole post.. then POOF, it was gone.. so now i have to write everything again... damn blogger...

Anyway, Kevin went to the Doctor and found out he has mono, Yup tha tis the kissing disease, hm.. wonder who HE'S been kissin'? Hope I don't get it! It sucks cause he's tired and sleeps all the time, but I feel bad for him. He has to go to work at the hospital tomorrow (FOR FREE MIND YOU) I don't know how he is supposed to get better when he has to get up so early and be on his feet all day with patients. He can't take time off because he has to finish this clinical to graduate, and if he doesn't go, then he won't graduate on time and that would just mess everything up, so I really hope he can fight this thing off!

We signed the lease on our new apartment. We had our choice of the one we got to look at (the pics below) and the on next to it that isn't completely vacant yet so we didn't get to see it. The second one is on the end, so it will have more windows, and even though we didn't get to see it, we chose that one. From what we could see through the windows, it looks a little nicer. The carpet is newer looking and we like the idea of having more windows. I hope we didn't make a mistake choosing the one we didn't see...

Kevin sold the Camaro *TEAR* that darn car was his baby. I told him that he can do whatever he wants with the money we get from it. Cause it was his car and he spent a lot of time making it look so good, so we'll see what $3000 and his imagination can come up with!

For Easter we (Kevin, my mom and dad, and myself) ate brunch at Kevin's parents house, then we ate dinner with my mom and dad. It was nice, and we now have enough chocholate to last us for a couple months!

I've been improving my wife skills. I made Lasagna for dinner last week, and I made breakfast for Kevin yesterday. I decided it's about time I learn to cook, it only took me close to 2 years! Kevin likes to cook, so I've never really had to know how, but on Friday I'll be 24, and I really should know how to cook by now! I've been spoiled up to this point.

Mr. FuzzyButt is acting like the world is coming to an end, he's running around the house chasing a ghost or something I obviously can't see. Must be spring, he just won't shut up and keeps jumping up on the keyboard and demanding my attention.

I was watching the news, and Terry (I'm not gonna even try to spell her last name, haven't paid enough attention to it...) has lived without her feeding tube for 11 days now! I don't know how I feel about that whole thing, really I can see both sides (even though the fact that the husband seems like a complete ASS) I can't believe she's made it this long, they gave her 2 weeks, so the next couple days should be interesting. I hope to God she really can't feel pain like the doctors say. I can't imagine what that would be like if she can feel it!

This post has been long enough, nothing too exciting obviously, but ya all bitch if I don't post for a week!

Kevin's Camaro, and Our New Apartment... PICS!

The pics of the apartment aren't acutally THE apartment we're getting. The one we're renting has more windows (cause it is on and end) and the carpet isn't as nasty. We have our choice if we want this one, or a different one that is on and end, that we can't get into to look at because the tenents are still living there for another week or so. The apartments (there are 4 townhomes in the building) have identical layouts, there are just some minor differences, like carpet and stuff.... anyay here's the pics

HOME SWEET HOME!!

Kevin and I have a HOME to move into in Devils Lake! Its a cute three level townhome. 2 bedrooms and laundry hookups. (our main concerns) Plus its in the same complex as our friend Jason, there is only one apartment in between us and him. We sign the lease on Saturday! We have to pay for April's rent even though we won't be moving in until closer to JUNE, but you get um' while they're hot. It is hard to find a decent place in DL because NOTHING new is EVER built there, and landlords usually suck. I'll post pics after we get back this weekend!

So now that we have a place, Kevin can except the job at Select Therapy for sure! Now all I have to do is find a job. I went to a Printing place, they were looking for Graphic designers, and applied, hopefully I hear from them sometime. I also applied at the Comfort Inn there (go with what ya know) I'm also going to apply at Head Start, maybe I can watch the kiddies. Tab said I can work with her at the Great American Inn and Suites but I don't know if I want to work with her because we'd be working different shifts, so one of us will always be there, and we'd never get to see eachother.

I'm going to try to keep myself busy there. I mean I don't want to get into a stupid dull routine. I want to join the Arts Councel. Kevin's mom is on it, and it sounds like something I'd like. (not the spending time with Kevin's mom part, but the getting involved in the community part)

I am enrolled in the Profit Sharing program at the Comfort Inn here and I have to work there 5 years before I can quit and get my $4,000. My hire anniversery is in October, so I have to stay an employee for a coupld months, and drive back to GF to work a shift or two a month to stay on payroll until I can quit and get my money. It's hard to believe that we'll be leaving so soon. I can't believe it worked out that we're moving back to our hometown. I don't know how I'll feel about living there, I'll probably feel like something isn't right for a while, like I'm just there for a long visit and that any day now I'll be driving back to GF, cause I've lived in GF for 5 years now and this feels more like 'home' than DL does, it'll definately take some adjusting. With Kevin there, I'll be fine.

Well, I'm off to find something to do, I want to see a movie tonight. I wanna see Ring 2, but I've heard from a couple of people that it sucks... any opinions? Has anyone seen that yet?

My week thus far...

My grandpa's funeral was really nice. My Dad and Aunt picked out a casket that was PERFECT for him. It has trees on it. The picture that is on the inside of the lid on the satin was a scenic view of trees. It looks just like what "THe Point" looks like when you're looking at it from the middle of WoodLake. The Point is the property that our lake cabin sits on. There was also trees engraved on the side and plated in gold (probably not real gold). It was very nice. My Granpa served in the Military so he recieved Military Honors at the burial. The flag was taken off the casket and presented to my dad and they soluted him. A lone trumpet player played Taps and there was a 21 shot solute (or whatever you call that) actually it was only 12 cause some of the shots didn't fire. The funeral director gathered the shell casings and gave them to the grandchildren. He said a lot of times, people plate the shell with brass or gold and have it engraved, so I think that is what I'm going to do. I saw people I haven't seen in a long time, people I didn't really know well anyway, but got reaquainted with. My mom placed photos of my grandpa on poster board and that was displayed for people to see.

It was a really beautiful funeral, I don't think I would have changed anything.

Back to things that don't make me sad... Kevin and I looked at that cute little house that I posted a pic of. It is pretty small, but definately has other atributes that make it worth seriously considering. It has NEW washer and Dryer, NEW stove, NEW carpet, NEW kitchen cabinets, NEW bathtub, shower and toilet. It has a basement that isn't finished, but nice and neat and clean looking. There isn't a garage, but there is a shed in back with a riding lawnmower that he said he'll keep in there for the residents' to use on the yard. THere is 1 3/4 bedroom. The master bedroom isn't very large, but we don't really NEED a BIG bedroom I guess. Then the other room is more of a den, or computer room. The Kitchen is small, but works well with the layout. no more than one person in that kitchen at one time thats FOR SURE! There isn't room for a dining room table, but Kevin and I never eat on the table we have now anyway! So the only con really is that it is small. No smaller than the apt we live in now though. I guess we may wait to see what else comes available.

Because I was gone Monday for the funeral, I don't have a day off for another 7 days. Which isn't that bad, but throw the weekend in there and my nerves might be shot come Monday. Tonight I'm going to buy some cheezy things to wear for ST. Patrick's day tomorrow. I mean, if I gotta be at work, no reason it can't be fun!
We're also going to pick up Kevin's Robe and Hood for Graduation. FINALLY after 8 YEARS of school, he'll be a DOCTOR OF PHYSICAL THERAPY! He soooo deserves it! And he is in the top percentage in his class too, so I have DOUBLE bragging rights! Kind of funny though that UND's official colors are green and PINK, Kevin's hood and robe have big PINK trim... way to be a MAN! I kid because I love...

Well, that is how my week is going thus far. I'm looking forward to Spring. We're supposed to get a HUMUNGUS (I've never spelled that out before..hm) snow storm. The whold state is in a Winter Storm Advisory. They say it is going to be the biggest storm of the season... great considering the season is almost OVER! But for today, it is pretty nice.. the calm before the storm I'm sure. better stock up on Water, TP, and canned foods, I might be here awhile. Okay, that may have been an exahgeration, but seriously, I hate winter.

HAVE A SUPER-D-DUPER DAY!!!

My Grandpa

My mom called me this morning to let me know my gradpa passed away at about 9:45am. I'm really glad I got to see him one last time yesterday. It's really sad, but I'm glad he doesn't have to suffer any more. So here's a shout out to my grandpa, who is in a much better place now.

When I was younger, I lived with my mom and dad in the lower apartment in my grandpa's house. I would go upstairs and my grandpa would give me treats. My favorite was Andes mints, or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

My family has a lake cabin and we used to spend a lot of time out there in the summer. My grandpa worked sooo hard out there, there was always work to be done. He would mow the lawn, and rake, and put in the docks and clean and everything would be perfect. I remember sitting outside with him not too long ago, probably right before he got too sick. He was looking at the trees and said "aren't those beautiful trees, they're really old, been around for years and years, a lot of people cut the trees down on their lots, but I like them, and I won't cut them down"

When me and my sister were younger, and we had friends out at the lake, my grandpa would always get really nervous if we swam too far out and close to the boat lane. We'd hear him yelling "COME IN, YOU'RE TOO FAR OUT, A BOATS GONNA HIT YOU!"
Growing up near the lake, my grandpa never learned how to swim.

Since my real grandma died of cancer before I was born, my grandpa dated people when I was growing up. There is this one woman named Mary. I don't remembeer her well, but I remember going to her house once and sitting at her kitchen table. Then my grandpa met Lena. They got married. I guess I love Lena, although I think she is a WACK JOB, simply insane at times, she's a hoot. They were married like for 15 years, or somethng like that, so I called her my step-grandma.

When Kevin and I got married almost two years ago, my grandpa was sick and in the Nursing home. Lena put a blue suite (from like 1982) on him and he looked good. He didn't know what was going on or who any of us were, but that was the last time he really left the nursing home. He told my I had a pretty dress :)

Lena had a dog named Sarah. My grandpa LOVED that dog. Sarah would always lay with my grandpa and he would pet her, They respected eachother a lot I think. They were buddies.

I love ya Grandpa OXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOOOOOOOO

Dealing with life... and death

I drove to DL last night. I got into town, and called my parents to let them know tht I'm in town. My dad told me that my gradpa isn't doing well at all. He has Alzteimers (sp?) and has been living in a Home for the past 3 or so years. So I went to see him today. I went with my dad, and when I walked in that room, I was soooo mortified by what I saw. I was trying to imagine the worst. But there I saw my grandpa laying in bed, he was nothing but skin and bones. He hasn't eaten in almost 4 days the nurse guy said. He hasn't been able to swallow well for a long time and so they have his head proped up with a ring pillow around his whole neck. His mouth was wide open and his breathing was very strained. I haven't seen my grandpa without a baseball cap on for a long time, and his head was so tiny and frail. He was sleeping and my dad bent down and talked to him and he opened his eyes just for a second and let out a little moan. He can't talk and he didn't move his mouth. I just lost it. I told my dad I couldn't be there any more, and I just started to cry. I bent down and gave him a kiss on his cheek, and we turned around and left. I feel so bad for him, because I know his time has come, and this waiting thing is the hardest. I know he is in pain, because just looking at him, you can tell. But the staff at the Nursing home is very kind, and they've taken good care of him while he has been there. I know it sounds kind of bad, but I wish he would die soon, so he doesn't have to be in so much discomfort. It was very hard to see that, and part of me wishes I didn't go, but I'm glad I got to see him one last time, cause I am not going back there, its just too sad and I don't want to remember him that way. I wasn't planning my trip home last night until last minute, but I'm glad I went home because my grandpa probably won't last another week, and I hope for his sake, he doesn't.

On that note...um... how to tastefully change the subject... Josie and I went and looked at houses that are for rent in DL. There was only 4 and we only found 3 of them. The last one we looked at is super cute, it is pretty small, but out of the 3, it is the best. It has new siding and a larger yard and the neigbors aren't as close. I can see my parents house from the front door, I thought that was entertaining. I have an aunt and uncle that live down the street from it too :) Anyway, here is a pic below.

I have an infection in my second peircings in my ear. Yeah, its gross. I made my mom try to clean it and drain it and put an earing in it this morning. An Earring wouldn't go in, so she took one of her needles (that she uses for her MS meds, Copacsone, I don't know how to spell it) and poked me and I screamed, and then finally we got it in. Ewww... it is gross and painful. But the other ear didn't work at all, so now I only have one earring in one ear. I feel like such a baby, because I know this is normal, but still, why do people do this to themselves?

Tomorrow is Blake-A-Roo's 21st B-day! YAY!!! I can't wait to bring him out to the bar, we're gonna have a blast! Blake, you just wait and see, you're gonna LOVE dancing (no, I don't dance, but I'm sure you'll find someone) We're having a nice dinner before, get him full of food so he has something to soak up all that liquor. Don't worry, you're in good hands, I won't let you drink more that you can handle, I'll cut ya off.

So that was my short trip home, But hey, there is a show on right now on the History Channel about that thing Doug was talking about... with the dead people made into art and stuff... so I'll write more tomrrow. peace out (oh yeah, i really just said that)

The house isn't crooked, just the photographer :) isn't it just cute! Posted by Hello

No title necessary...

I hung out with Doug and Karissa and Isabella today. Isabella was in a very good mood. She is soooo cute, I can't believe she is almost 6 months! She has a perfect little smile, and she was just happy today, she even let Kevin hold her. And he let her drool all over him. They let me do my laundry at their house, which means I don't have to pay for it, and I don't have to go outside and face the wind and blowing snow everytime I need to check on my laundry or switch loads. While I was doing my laundry, we watched the movie Saw. EVERYONE HAS TO SEE THAT MOVIE. I'm not going to go into details, but its such a good thriller. A real mind bender (not that it takes much to bend my mind) I didn't think it was going to be good, but it was the best movie I've seen in a long time!

Kevin starts his LAST clinical study tomorrow. He gets to stay in town this time and work at Altru. He hasn't had the best experiences with his clinicals, so hopefully he gets a really nice Clinical Instructor and learns a lot.

ATTENTION MOM: I NEED THAT DARN RECIEPE (SP?) for that cheese dip, so you need to EMAIL ME!!!!

Well, here's to a good week!!! :)

Why I am a really bad friend.... a public appology.

So for almost a month, I've been promising Blake that I would go to his choir concert. I was excited to go too, because blake always talks about his peeps from choir and he likes it so much that I want to meet some of these people I hear him talk about, plus I wanted to hear him sing! But I'm an idiot, the concert was last night and for SOME stupid reason, I thought it was tonight (Sun) Then all of a sudden while we were driving (at 9:30p) to Rumors, it hit me like a very large brick in the head... I don't have an excuse, I flat out forgot! I mean I remembered earlier that day... but for some reason I at that time I thought it was tomorrow, but I remember thinking about it yesterday and knowing it was saturday night! Gr... so anyway, needless to say I feel really bad! I've been telling Kevin about it all week too! I called Blake, and he's all like "yeah, its okay, don't worry about it" well you know what, he would say that if I started his car on fire! Blake, I love ya, but sometimes your just too nice! So, I'm sorry Blake, I really really really am, but I'm telling ya, your B-Day party is going to be extra fun now!

Kevin and I went out to Rumors bar last night. We met up with Jess (a girl I work with) and her brother, Joe, Kelsey and her roommate, Kristy, and Kristy's boyfriend Eric. We also met some new people. It was a lot of fun! Kevin, Jess and Joe got a beer tower. The tower is 162oz of beer, it stood about 4 feet tall on the table, and it was the perfect amount for 3 people to drink and have a pretty good time. Kelsey has this friend that she talks about often named Monica, I met her last night too, and turns out I already know her, she graduated with me in DL! Small world I guess. After the bar we ate at the Red Pepper (perfect after bar food!)

Being the responsible people we are, we got a designated driver, thing is, I had to leave my car in the Rumors parking lot, and Kevin's car is parked at the Hotel, (cause he picked me up from work yesteday then made ME drive home in my car and we left his car there) so now, we don't have a car! so, I'm gonna have to find someone to pick us up and escort us to one of our cars... then I think we're going to see what Doug and Karissa are doing, because I haven't seen Isabella in person in a couple of weeks, and darn it, I think I'm going into withdrawls... My evening last night was way more fun than it sounds when I read it on by post... hm, I'll work on spicing up my entries!

Ordinary People

Have you heard John Legend's song "Ordinary People" well it is REALLY good. You should all listen to it, and take it's advise...

"Ordinary People"

[Verse 1]

Girl im in love with you
This ain't the honeymoon
Past the infatuation phase
Right in the thick of love
At times we get sick of love
It seems like we argue everyday

[Bridge]

I know i misbehaved
And you made your mistakes
And we both still got room left to grow
And though love sometimes hurts
I still put you first
And we'll make this thing work
But I think we should take it slow

[Chorus]

We're just ordinary people
We don't know which way to go
Cuz we're ordinary people
Maybe we should take it slow (Take it slow oh oh ohh)
This time we'll take it slow (Take it slow oh oh ohh)
This time we'll take it slow

[Verse 2]

This ain't a movie no
No fairy tale conclusion ya'll
It gets more confusing everyday
Sometimes it's heaven sent
We head back to hell again
We kiss and we make up on the way

[Bridge]

I hang up you call
We rise and we fall
And we feel like just walking away
But as our love advances
We take second chances
Though it's not a fantasy
I Still want you to stay

[Chorus]

We're just ordinary people
We don't know which way to go
Cuz we're ordinary people
Maybe we should take it slow (Take it slow oh oh ohh)
This time we'll take it slow (Take it slow oh oh ohh)
This time we'll take it slow

[Verse 3]

Take it slow
Maybe we'll live and learn
Maybe we'll crash and burn
Maybe you'll stay, maybe you'll leave,
maybe you'll return
Maybe another fight
Maybe we won't survive
But maybe we'll grow
We never know baby youuuu and I

[Chorus]

We're just ordinary people
We don't know which way to go
Cuz we're ordinary people
Maybe we should take it slow (Heyyy)
We're just ordinary people
We don't know which way to go
Cuz we're ordinary people
Maybe we should take it slow (Take it slow oh oh ohh)
This time we'll take it slow (Take it slow oh oh ohh)
This time we'll take it slow

Anyway, Kevin and I are back to our ordinary selves too!! I like having him back. Especially since he just got finished cleaning the cat room... yup the one with all the icky litter. Mopped it and everything, such a good little man. It's our small storage unit, and he took everything out, threw junk away, cleaned and now is putting everything back in. Now he is attempting to put the matresses into that closet. This should be entertaining...

Kevin had an interview with Cliff from Select Therapy from DL today. It went really well. This way, we'll still move to DL, but Kevin will have a job that he will be happier with, and this one pays more too. Plus, he'll be like Jose's boss... okay not really, but they'll work together, if she is still able to work by the time he gets there. :)

Did I mention I'm really happy he's back home... 'cause, you know, I am...

a knock at my door...

Okay so my plans for tonight were simple. I was going to leave GF about 6pm to go to DL for the night and make it home before Kevin gets home tomorrow night. (which I am totally excited about!) I was getting packed to leave when Kevin called. He and the buddies from the hospital are going out tonight, and he just wanted to say hi and stuff. He told me that a Physical Therapy position had just become available... in GRAND FORKS! and so he has applied. I really want to stay in GF I think. I got myself all psyched up to move back home, but in the long run, I think I'll be more happy here. Anyway, so Kevin talked to this guy and this guy was supposed to be here around 7pm to drop off some paperwork for Kevin to fill out for the job, and Kevin asked me if I could stay and wait for this guy cause he told him I'd be home. Okay, so I'm waiting for this guy... and it is getting to be close to 7. My car is running outside and all my stuff is packed and waiting by the door, and I really wanted to leave town before it got too cold...so I'm waiting, and I called Kevin to ask him if I can just leave. "No, the guy got off work at 6:30, he should be there any minut..." So I wait, and I'm about to start loading my car when there is knock on my door... I open it.... and there stands a man, about 5'8" dark hair with a goate... with a big ol' grin on his face...guess who it was... KEVIN!!! that silly husband, he tricked me good! I was all like "what the... my cars running... I'm packed.. I was going to DL... you ruined my plans!" but I'm soooooo happy to have him back! I had the ickiest week ever, and I'm glad I can get back my normal life, with my husband there everyday, and a normal routine... ahh... So that is my story, everyone can read it and wish they had such a sweet, lovable guy like I have... but you can only wish, cause he's all mine. Oh and by the way, the job in GF is true, there really is one, and Kevin is applying, its just the dude that he made up to make me stay home. okay, we're off to DL right now...TA TA

AND THE ANSWER IS...

I know you have all been waiting to know what the image below means... well... here ya go. In class, the teacher asked us to make an image that symbolized the actual creation of the image, break it down to its simplest form... So to understand it, here is some background in color and how it is "mixed" there are four basic colors that exist to form all the colors of the rainbow (or values of light that mixes... but anyway) they are Cyan (C), Magenta (M), Yellow (Y), and Black (K). This is how your color photos are developed too, by the way; Making this concept the most important aspect of what I love to do... photography!

So back to the image below... I simply wrote the values of each color (CYMK) in the actual color that it makes. And I went down the line...to make this rainbow...and in the image the rainbow is broken down into its simpelst form...CMYK. This is actually only one half of the image, I had to break it in two parts to fit on the paper I was printing on, so I did the WHOLE color spectrum of CMYK... but it isn't all here, I lost part of it on a disk somewhere.

Another way it is broken down to its simplest form is that I used a computer to digitally make this image, and that is the only way it can be viewed because when you print it out, some color values are lost in the restrictions of the printer. And so yeah... there ya go... not too complicated, but I'm proud I thought of the idea. Some people totally didn't get the assignment... yay for me.

digging through my computer

I'm trying to find one specific pic that I want to put on my blog, but can't find it, I've found some other of my old stuff though. I don't know how much of this I've already posted, so forgive me if they are doubles, but I know for sure that I haven't posted this Photoshop doc below... besides Amadon, does anyone else get it? It pretty much sums up what I love to do. You might have to enlarge it to see the detail. It doesn't look too hard, but it took me a good 2 weeks to get it done. Who knows maybe you'll all understand the concept right away and think I'm stupid for thinking you won't get it...
